Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Division is searching for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner professional to support the Wauna Mill located in Clatskanie, OR. This role will focus on detailed job planning and coordination to support the facility in our Converting (Unitizing) department. This position will require a motivated, organized and detailed oriented individual knowledgeable of industrial equipment, processes, and procedures. A successful candidate will have a long-term continuous improvement focus that values establishing systemic processes that are system versus people dependent and create sustainable value.

WHO YOU ARE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Experience in maintenance planning or scheduling in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical or military environment
  • Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Responsibilities
  • Providing detailed planning and materials procurement for maintenance shutdowns and daily operations and/or annual outages within the facility, particularly in major areas.
  • Developing and managing maintenance plans through Microsoft Project software and the SAP CMMS system, ensuring all information, such as Bills of Materials and specifications, is continuously updated.
  • Supporting mill maintenance crews and contractors directly during maintenance shutdown days and outages, with an emphasis on efficient coordination and scheduling of mechanical maintenance work.
  • Collaborating extensively with craftspeople, operations, contractor representatives, and materials suppliers to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
  • Enhancing safety through the creation of detailed Job Hazard Analysis documentation and adherence to Georgia-Pacific permitting and procedures, while leading safety practices by example.
  • Performing rotating weekend on-call duties approximately once per quarter for the entire mill and occasionally covering responsibilities of other mechanical leaders.
  • Demonstrating urgency and discipline in balancing break-in and scheduled work, with a focus on developing a weekly work forecast and championing timely identification and development of maintenance outage work.
  • Applying economic and critical thinking skills with a risk-taking mentality to ensure maintenance spending delivers long-term value for the product system and mill.
  • Encouraging personal ownership among mechanics and operators and fostering the growth of their capabilities while collaborating with Area Leaders to prioritize work.
  • Assisting in manpower optimization and sharing insights with other Reliability Coordinators and Planners, as well as maintaining Planning Board metrics and providing performance explanations weekly and monthly.
