Description

Ivaco Rolling Mills, a Heico Company, located in L’Orignal, Ontario (near Hawkesbury), a world-class Wire Rod and Steel Billet producer is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your role will be to supervise and direct the maintenance team ensure mechanical equipment maintenance at the Plant.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effectively and efficiently assigns and monitors work assignments, progress tracking, and accurate and timely reporting as it relates to maintenance.
  • Provides direction to hourly maintenance technicians and manages employees’ scheduling of the maintenance team, including but not limited to vacation scheduling, OT & weekend scheduling.
  • Coaches and mentors maintenance employees to ensure each employee is adequately trained and carrying out job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated and results-driven to ensure work assignments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong positive relationships and work culture.
  • Maintains a “safety-first” attitude. Leads monthly safety meetings and ensures the application of health, safety and environmental standards and practices.
  • Reports and investigates all accidents with the aim of preventing reoccurrences.
  • Actively participates in problem solving with employees; works towards settling disputes as they arise by applying provisions of the collective agreement.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and Company policies.
  • participation in continuous activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant mechanical trade, technologist, or engineering degree in mechanics.
  • Certification in the field of education (ex: Red Seal).
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting. Experience in steel mill would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer software such as CMMS (maintenance management), Microsoft Excel/Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must have excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to plan and perform day-to-day maintenance work and follow set out preventative maintenance programs.
  • Willingness to learn Mill to better understand the manufacturing process.
  • Experience leading and managing skilled trades in a unionized environment.
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
