We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all mechanical and electrical equipment within the facility. The successful candidate will perform both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of machinery. This role is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of our production processes in a highly regulated environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Desirable Qualifications:


    • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.

    • City & Guilds 2365/2330 or equivalent in Electrical Installations.
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
    • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline.
    • HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent in Inspection and Testing.
    • Experience with PLC programming and fault-finding.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in a maintenance role within the pharmaceutical or food industry.
    • Extensive experience with both electrical and mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and automated systems.
    • Strong experience in both planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance.
    • Experience working in a highly regulated environment, with an understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

    SKILLS:

    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
    • Familiarity with CMMS software and maintenance planning.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    Responsibilities
    • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize production downtime.
    • Carry out reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work using the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities, contributing to the enhancement of equipment reliability and efficiency.
    • Work collaboratively with the production team to identify and resolve issues that may impact production.
    • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
    • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failures.
    • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and materials, and assist with procurement as necessary.
