Due to continued growth, Simmers Crane Design & Services , A Flatiron Crane Operating Company is looking for a Mechanical Field Technician to join their highly skilled team. Feel a great sense of pride and ownership as you are seen as the expert that helps keep businesses running.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar Military Experience.
  • Skills and experience in welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience as an ironworker, millwright or facilities maintenance is preferred.
  • Team approach to problem solving.
  • Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to interface with internal and external customers.
  • Travel Required.
  • Eligible to work various shifts.
  • Ability to work at customers facilities including the extreme elements indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Work in accordance with OSHA, CMAA, ANSI, ASME, AWS, and other applicable regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and related equipment at customer facilities.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Work as a team with other technicians and project engineers to perform major installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • You will be trained to perform documented safety inspections of specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with applicable guidelines, consulting with customers regarding all noted deficiencies and completing all required paperwork.
  • Responsible for documentation of hours, services performed, writing service acknowledgments, and working with computers.
