About the Role As a Mechanical Package Engineer / Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of the mechanical services package on a hyperscale data centre project. You will lead design coordination, procurement and construction of critical cooling infrastructure, ensuring performance, resilience and compliance in a mission-critical environment. Key responsibilities include: Lead delivery of the mechanical package, including HVAC, chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers and associated systems Drive design management and technical review to ensure compliance with performance, redundancy (N+1/2N) and client requirements Manage interfaces across mechanical, electrical, fire, structural and controls/ICT systems to ensure seamless integration Oversee procurement, subcontractor management and construction delivery of mechanical systems Lead commissioning activities, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), integrated systems testing (IST) and handover of mission-critical infrastructure Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, project specifications and industry best practice for data centre cooling systems Identify and manage technical risks, value engineering opportunities and design optimisation initiatives About You Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering 8+ years’ experience in building services with exposure to data centres or mission-critical environments Strong expertise in HVAC and cooling systems, including chilled water systems, thermal management and redundancy strategies Proven track record delivering mechanical packages on complex, large-scale construction projects Experience managing subcontractors, procurement and construction interfaces Strong understanding of commissioning processes and performance validation in critical environments Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability Ability to operate in high-pressure, fast-paced project environments Why UGL?
