ABOUT THE JOB YOU’RE CONSIDERING

  • Guide the engineering development of electric motor components from sourcing to launch, ensuring alignment with vehicle performance and quality goals.
  • Coordinate the release of designs, secure necessary approvals, and ensure manufacturability and readiness of components.
  • Track and manage component cost and mass to meet program targets and support future design directions.
  • Lead and facilitate the resolution of component issues, ensuring timely and effective problem-solving.
  • Drive design changes through a structured management process, maintaining documentation and traceability.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production integration.
  • Provide technical leadership in benchmarking, warranty analysis, and field issue resolution post-launch.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 7+ years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on electrified vehicles and E-Motors.
  • Deep knowledge of E-Motors and Electric Drive Modules, including design principles, operation, testing, and reliability.
  • Proficiency in Vis Mockup and Teamcenter for collaborative design and visualization.
  • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and techniques for simulation and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and ability to lead DVP&R and DFMEA documentation.
  • Experience in E-Motors Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, prototyping, and production, including cooling technologies and subcomponents.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams to ensure E-Motors components meet performance, safety, and quality standards, while contributing to the overall vehicle objectives.
  • Lead design change and release processes for E-Motors components, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documents to ensure robust validation and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate tasks and resources to meet program timing milestones, ensuring project alignment and delivery.
  • Utilize software tools such as NX, Vis Mockup, and Teamcenter to design, visualize, and communicate component concepts effectively.
  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to improve component quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals and delivery of high-quality components.
