Officer Level (Entry Level - TAFE Graduate or less than 2 year experience)

  • Develop skills in creating piping layouts and isometric drawings under supervision.
  • Assist with system integration and spatial coordination in a 3D design environment.
  • Support the team in problem investigations and propose practical solutions.
  • Build technical competence by engaging with experienced designers and staying up to date with standards and technologies

Intermediate Level (e.g. between 2 and 10 years of experience)

  • Produce accurate piping system models, fabrication drawings, and installation details in accordance with engineering and quality standards.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet project requirements for safety, accuracy, and constructability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production, and other design disciplines to resolve integration challenges.
  • Contribute to design reviews, identify improvements, and apply lessons learned to future work
Responsibilities

YOUR NEW ROLE:

BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to deliver nine of the world’s most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
As part of our international Detail Design team, you will create and integrate high-quality 3D piping system models and 2D production outputs using advanced digital shipbuilding toolsets. These outputs directly enable the production workforce in our Osborne shipyard, and subcontractors across Australia, to manufacture and install the complex mechanical and piping systems of the Hunter Class Frigates.
