Hours:Office Hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon.-Fri.); Field Hours – Varies

Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering and project execution, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Piping Designer who is eager to learn and grow within our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a background in designing and drafting engineering projects in addition to providing design and drafting administrative support; is a proactive problem solver; and always ready to take on various tasks and contribute to different aspects of our projects.
Under the mentorship of the Facility Design Lead, you will gain hands-on experience and develop your technical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. The results you are responsible for include:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering Design and Drafting Certificate (2-year program) from an accredited Technical Institute.
  • 0-4 years of related experience in oil and gas well sites and facilities (or equivalent).
  • Plans to be or already registered with ASET as a: Technologist in Training (T.T.), Certified Technician (C.Tech.), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
  • Willingness to learn from experienced designers and engineers.
  • Knowledge of ASME & ANSI Codes and Industry Standards.
  • Familiar with piping specifications, pipe support requirements, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plans, flow diagrams, and interpreting vendor information.
  • Proficient with PDF Editors (e.g., BlueBeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat) and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Possess a valid Alberta Driver’s license with Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • 3D modeling experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with CADWorx Plant Software (3D modeling); AutoCAD (2D and 3D drafting); Navisworks; and other associated products for engineering drawings is considered an asset.
