In this role, you will be part of the team working with clients, contractors and vendors to deliver a diverse range of projects across New Zealand, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. You will gain experience across industries including water, minerals & metals, food & life science, wood & fibre, energy and manufacturing. While each project you work on will be different in scope and scale, you will be: Leading mechanical and piping work packages, specifying and integrating mechanical equipment for production, manufacturing, utilities, refrigeration, energy, water and waste projects on large industrial and infrastructure sites Gaining exposure by working across multiple industries, understanding client’s opportunities and challenges, and translating them into work briefs that provide the right engineering solution Helping develop long term client relationships and partnering with some of New Zealand’s most successful organisations in our largest industries Working with experienced engineers in developing energy recovery and carbon zero projects Working in project engineer roles in the office and site-based locations, setting clear expectations on scope, cost, quality, and schedule Identifying opportunities for Beca to expand service offerings across multiple clients and markets Working with site-based engineering teams delivering capital projects You will have the opportunity to both learn from our leading Principles, mechanical experts, delivery leads and project specialists, as well as having scope to have your say and contribute. Ko wai koe | About you To be successful in this role, you will be a Mechanical Engineer looking to make a difference with a passion for project delivery excellence. You love to learn, be pragmatic, share knowledge and are someone who can bring a fresh perspective. You will also have an enquiring mind and be able to problem-solve and think laterally. You are a qualified Engineer with a passion and good problem-solving skills. You have grown your technical design, mechanical engineering and project management experience through working on projects for heavy industrial, food and beverage processing facilities, or related industrial sites. You will have experience and understand the detailed design process, as well as being able to understand how designs and solutions impact on site. Experience working on-site building relationships with operations teams and the related requirements of being on site, will be an advantage.
