QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling for mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Fabrication CADmep.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, construction methods, and industry codes/standards.
  • Experience with clash detection and coordination workflows using Navisworks Manage.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/plumbing drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Experience in prefabrication workflows and shop drawing production.
  • Knowledge of laser scanning and point cloud integration.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Teams, and project management software.

Responsibilities

Modeling & Detailing

  • Develop accurate and constructible 3D models of mechanical piping and plumbing systems using BIM/VDC software (Revit, AutoCAD, Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Produce detailed spool sheets, shop drawings, and installation drawings directly from the model.
  • Apply company standards, specifications, and best practices to all model elements.

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other trades to identify and resolve clashes, conflicts, and constructability issues through Navisworks or other clash detection tools.
  • Work closely with the VDC, prefabrication, and field installation teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency from design through installation.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.

Project Support

  • Maintain and update models throughout the project lifecycle to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Support prefabrication planning by providing accurate and timely shop and spool drawings.
  • Assist in quantity take-offs, material tracking, and installation sequencing based on model data.

Quality & Standards

  • Ensure all deliverables meet company quality control standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Follow established BIM execution plans and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
