VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical / Process Engineer. This is a full-time position located in our Blacksburg, VA headquarters. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical / Process Engineer will be a key member within our Quality Department. Responsibilities will include: * Design hardware, fixtures, and processes for new products * Analyze and test designs for robustness against thermal and dynamic environments * Improve processes and materials for existing products to increase yield and throughput * Create/edit procedures, drawings, and other production documentation * Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely deliveries * Travel (international & domestic) to production facilities to evaluate processes and materials Because of the nature of the position, a US Person is required. VPT, Inc., is an Equal Opportunity/VET/Disability Employer Qualifications Qualifications: Required: * Bachelor’s degree in: * Mechanical Engineering * Materials Engineering * Industrial Engineering Preferred: * Background in electronic assembly process * 3D modeling and drafting (SolidWorks preferred) * Finite element analysis * Machining/prototyping experience (CNC, milling maching, waterjet, 3D printing, etc.) * Environmental testing experience (thermal, shock, vibration, etc.)

Responsibilities
