JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and optimizing new manufacturing and assembly processes, particularly in high-precision environments. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in assembly-intensive industries.
  • Proven experience setting up new mechanical and assembly processes from the ground up.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of gear, clutch, and transmission systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and process simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and manufacturing best practices.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience in remanufacturing, automotive, or transmission industries.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, automation, or robotics integration a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement mechanical processes for the assembly and remanufacturing of automatic transmissions.
  • Lead the setup of new manufacturing lines, tools, and fixtures to support new or revised product introductions.
  • Evaluate current assembly processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Production to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Design cells layouts for optimal flow related to materials and value add work
  • Support training of production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to streamline workflow and reduce waste.
  • Specify and procure equipment, tooling, and materials as required for process changes.
  • Ensure all processes comply with industry standards and internal quality requirements.
