Hospeco Brands Group's rapid growth, both organic and via acquisition, is powered by its team of driven, innovative problem-solvers and a culture of integrity and respect.  Position Summary: The Mechanical/Product Engineer will support the manufacturing, design, development, and continuous improvement of wet-wipe production, flat-pack development, and other cleaning technology products within the Hospeco portfolio. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including product management, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to develop reliable, cost-effective mechanical/product solutions for commercial cleaning and hygiene applications. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. * Work with existing manufacturing teams to improve, optimize and sustain cGMP in wet-wipes manufacturing. * Create and maintain engineering flows, specifications, and technical documentation. * Partner with design, quality, and operations teams to transition new products from concept to full‑scale production, ensuring manufacturability, process capability, and launch readiness. * Evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reductions, and increased reliability. * Conduct testing and validation of mechanical components, materials, and assemblies to ensure performance and durability. * Troubleshoot product issues and support root cause analysis for field or manufacturing concerns. * Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to ensure manufacturability and efficient production processes. * Work with product management and quality teams to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and industry standards. * Support design reviews, engineering change requests (ECR/ECO), and product lifecycle management activities. * Provide technical support to internal teams including operations, sales, and customer support when needed. * Develop and direct preventative maintenance protocols and activities with maintenance teams. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * 3+ years of experience in mechanical product design, manufacturing, or product development. * Experience designing mechanical assemblies and components for manufactured products. * Familiarity with fluid handling systems, pumps, or dispensing mechanisms preferred. * Familiarity with production environments related to filling, wipes or related chemical manufacturing. * Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with substrate converting, chemical filling and/or wipes manufacturing. * Experience in dispensing equipment, fluid control systems, or cleaning technology products. * Experience in controlled environments cleaning products. * Knowledge of chemical compatibility and materials selection for cleaning solutions. * Experience with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles. * Familiarity with product testing, validation, and lifecycle management processes. * Familiarity with ladder logic. * Familiarity with P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams). * Familiarity with circuit diagrams, both electrical and pneumatic. * Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control). Physical Requirements: * Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or workstation. * Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds such as equipment components, prototypes, or testing materials. * Ability to perform hands-on work with mechanical components during prototyping, testing, and product evaluation. * Ability to occasionally walk through manufacturing, warehouse, or testing environments. * Ability to use standard office and engineering equipment including computers, measuring tools, and testing devices. * Visual ability to review engineering drawings, technical documentation, and inspect product components. Based on Canada's employment laws, the salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000.00 CAD. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
