Our projects span the water, wastewater, industrial services, and process infrastructure sectors, with strong integration between mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and controls disciplines. Your primary focus will be leading the mechanical scope across multiple projects, supported by your ability to coordinate with electrical and civil teams as required. Candidates who come from high‑complexity industrial environments (e.g., FMCG, manufacturing, energy, plant operations, or workshop/fabrication backgrounds) and who are comfortable managing multidisciplinary systems will find this work highly aligned. Core Focus Areas: Mechanical Delivery | Project Programming | Financial Control | Health & Safety Leadership | NZS3910 Coordinate end-to-end delivery of mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, pipework, valves, rotating equipment, and process plant. Oversee mechanical procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout, including development and management of QA documentation, ITPs, FAT/SAT, and commissioning plans. Coordinate multiple projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements, including programme development, sequencing, methodologies, and look-ahead schedules. Manage interfaces with electrical, civil/structural, and instrumentation/control disciplines and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise programme impacts. Maintain accurate Cost to Complete (CTC), forecasting, procurement planning, and value for money evaluations across assigned projects. Prepare or support payment and subcontractor claims, progress reporting, and the identification, pricing, and management of variations, applying a working knowledge of NZS 3910 requirements and communication processes. Lead by example in promoting Fulton Hogan’s H&S expectations, ensuring all work is planned and executed in line with legislation, internal procedures, and project-specific requirements. Participate in risk reviews, SWMS development, and site H&S leadership activities, ensuring compliance with relevant New Zealand standards, codes, and industry guidelines. Review and approve vendor documentation, project specifications, installation procedures, shop drawings, and completion/commissioning records. Ensure mechanical completion, testing, commissioning, as-built information, O&M manuals, and client handover documentation are accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements. We’re looking for someone with: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Civil or Electrical considered where strong mechanical exposure exists). 5+ years’ experience delivering mechanical scope in water, wastewater, industrial, oil & gas, or process infrastructure OR transferable experience from comparable complex mechanical/operations environments. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or operational lines. Experience with project programming tools (e.g., MS Project, CCS). Strong understanding of NZS 3910 processes: claims, variations, delays, formal notices. Strong financial awareness: cost tracking, forecasting, claims, variations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Solid experience with QA, testing, commissioning, and construction or operational completion. Demonstrated commitment to leadership in Health & Safety.
