POSITION

We are looking for a Canadian licensed Professional Engineer, with a minimum Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a minimum 5 years of experience, that has included roles in technical leadership. In this position, the candidate will require the following soft skills and aptitudes:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and represent the company in a professional manner
  • Able to communicate, organize and manage a small project team to deliver a variety of projects
  • Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Report writing
  • Willingness to learn new skills and expand knowledge horizons
  • Problem solving mentality

The following technical skillsets and experience are essential:

  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD for the generation of Process Flow and Piping and Instrument Diagrams
  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks to generate machining, fabrication, assembly, and site layout drawings
  • Experience in the design of skid packaged process equipment, pressure vessels and piping
  • Working knowledge of CSA B51, ASME B31.3, ASME BPVC
  • Analytical and modeling capability in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow and stress analysis using macro-enabled Excel
  • Sizing and selection of process equipment including compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, water knockouts, filters, control valves, safety relief valves, etc.
  • Generalist knowledge of electrical instrumentation and controls

The successful candidate shall be

  • A Professional Engineer licensed in a province of Canada or eligible for professional registration within a couple years of hiring, and,
  • Willing to travel periodically to support projects with field reviews and other tasks remote from the home office.
