Description

READING/LONDON + TRAVEL

We’re currently representing a respected, fast-growing HVAC contractor with a stellar track record of delivering high-spec mechanical projects for Tier 1 main contractors across the UK. With offices in London, Bristol, and Cardiff, they’re known for their end-to-end in-house design capabilities, top-tier project delivery standards, and commitment to quality and safety – backed by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and full CDM compliance.
Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, they’re now looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join the team, covering projects across Reading, London, and occasionally other regions as needed.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

This is a key hire. Reporting directly to the London Contracts Director, you’ll take full ownership of high-profile mechanical packages – primarily HVAC – on major commercial and mixed-use schemes. You’ll manage everything from preconstruction through to handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
You’ll be the linchpin between site teams, senior stakeholders, and clients, ensuring smooth coordination and proactive problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Managing mechanical installations across heating, ventilation, and AC systems on high-value build projects
  • Leading and motivating project teams, including engineers, techs, and subcontractors
  • Driving project planning, procurement, cost control, and resourcing
  • Acting as the key client point of contact – clear communication and transparency is essential
  • Maintaining excellent health & safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance (CDM, ISO 9001/14001)
  • Conducting site visits, quality checks, and performance reviews
  • Mentoring junior team members including apprentices – helping to grow the future of the business
  • Reporting to internal directors and senior management on project progress, issues, and financials
