Summary: As a Mechanical Project Manager – Dryside/Sheet Metal focused, you will thrive in a collaborative team environment, leading project teams and overseeing initiatives from inception to completion. You’ll be responsible for estimating, executing, and finalizing project work. The Special Projects Group specializes in rapid-paced, customer-centric projects, requiring hands-on expertise across diverse markets.

PROJECT MANAGER’S ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Projects are completed at or below budget
  • Projects are completed at or ahead of schedule
  • There are no unresolved safety or quality issues on the projects
  • Train and develop project staff personnel
  • A satisfied customer
  • Billings are prepared and collected timely
  • Assure the accuracy and timeliness of all data associated with essential functions
  • Follow all standard company processes and policies
  • Satisfied shareholders
    The Project Manager reports to the Vice President of the Special Projects Group based out of Milwaukie, OR.
    Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000 annually

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil engineering degree and/or equivalent experience or education, Trade experience is a plus and will count for equivalent
  • 4+ years plus full Project Management life cycle experience in the applicable construction and mechanical industry
  • Experience with dryside/sheet metal, wet mechanical backgrounds, and mechanical retrofit projects, new construction, multi-family, and industrial projects.
  • Proven experience negotiating profitable work and developing customer relationships with key decision-makers
  • Expert in Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, using MS Project or comparable applications
  • Expert knowledge in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Safety
  • Fully Proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam – intermediate skills in Excel
  • Must be able to travel to various construction job sites as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical requirements for this role include the ability to transition frequently between an office and a construction field setting. In the office, the individual must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, performing repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse, and communicating by telephone. In the field, the individual must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods on various surfaces, including uneven terrain, and climbing stairs as required. The role also necessitates the ability to kneel, crouch, and crawl to view/inspect tight spaces, as well as occasionally lifting 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and communicating on-site. The individual must adhere to the site-specific dress code and comply with safety requirements by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. Flexibility to travel between job sites and work outside regular business hours when necessary is also required.
