Requirements:

  • 8+ years of mechanical QA/QC experience in large-scale construction.
  • Proven experience on mission-critical projects (data centers, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems installation, testing, and turnover.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with QA documentation tools (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA Specialist to join our team on a large-scale data center project in Sparks, NV. This role is responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and documented in compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and client quality standards. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of mission-critical MEP systems, strong field inspection experience, and the ability to collaborate with contractors, engineers, and commissioning teams to maintain quality from installation through turnover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and enforce mechanical quality assurance and quality control processes for all phases of construction.
  • Review installation work against approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASME).
  • Perform daily field inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, boilers, pumps, and piping.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with the project’s QA/QC plan and report deviations.
  • Document inspections, punch list items, and deficiencies, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support equipment start-up, functional testing, and integration with commissioning activities.
  • Review and verify submittals, shop drawings, and O&M manuals for accuracy.
  • Maintain quality documentation and logs in accordance with client requirements.
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and owner representatives to resolve field issues.
