We’re currently growing our team of Artisans with a Mechanical Rental Maintenance Supervisor to be located at our Houston Distribution Center. This position will supervise and maintain the mechanical readiness of the RTI Mechanical Equipment for the HDC and will ensure that all RTI USA Mechanical Equipment is maintained, certified, and stored appropriately to ensure the highest quality standards are met and adhered to. This will help guarantee that all equipment will be safe, reliable, and ready for use. This role is primarily shop-based and requires a strong daily presence on the shop floor. The Supervisor will protect safety, build culture, invest in people, be a leader for continuous improvement and enforce process discipline through active engagement with the team. They will maintain a mindset for scale, ensuring production capacity meets the needs for short and mid-term demand, and identify opportunities for vertical integration that strengthen long-term capabilities. The Supervisor must be a leader that displays the following qualities: empathy, calm under pressure, welcomes feedback, ability to lead up, and skilled at winning over the team through trust and respect. Requirements Duties & Responsibilities · Provide leadership, mentorship, guidance, and coaching to all RTI MR Maintenance Artisans. · Maintain equipment inventory in an orderly manner. · Supervise equipment maintenance as per RTI’s Mechanical Global Maintenance Procedures. · Aggressively reduce capital expenditure needs for equipment purchases by increasing production and ensuring all equipment is returned to a “Ready for Issue” state as fast as possible during peak rental seasons. · Supervise equipment certification/Ready for Issue program by utilizing technology in order to maintain equipment maintenance records. · Supervise and maintain equipment storage areas at the HDC to ensure all equipment is stored safely and efficiently. · Ensure equipment support supplies (fittings, bolts, gaskets, parts, etc…) and support equipment are requested in a timely manner to increase maintenance capabilities. · Complete inventory adjustments with the Inventory Management Team for equipment items that fail inspection or are no longer repairable. · Maintain production reports as appropriate. · Champion shop safety by modeling safe work practices, correcting unsafe behaviors, and reinforcing a culture where safety is non-negotiable. · Analyze shop performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive lean improvements to increase efficiency and reliability. · Foster a team atmosphere by investing relationally, sharing experience, and pouring into key team members for long-term growth. · Encourage and facilitate employee development through daily coaching, crucial conversations, and growth opportunities. · Leverage technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment, guide repair efforts, and train others in advanced shop practices. · Maintain a forward-looking mindset with a passion for scale, ensuring shop processes, people, and systems grow in pace with company demand. · Identify and act on vertical integration opportunities that strengthen efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and expand long-term production capabilities. · Lead with empathy, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate professionalism and skill when addressing challenges or delivering constructive criticism. Supervisory Responsibilities · Conduct semi-annual performance reviews on direct reporting employees. · Prioritize Shop Technician workload for project fulfillment and productivity. · Review and approve Shop Technician timesheets, vacation requests, expense reports, etc. · Lead, train, and develop reporting Shop Technicians in all maintenance related activities, with an emphasis on safety. · Actively build shop culture through presence, accountability, and encouragement, ensuring alignment with RTI’s mission and values. Minimum Qualifications · Ability to operate a forklift. · Familiar and comfortable working with a computer. Specifically, MS Outlook and Excel · Ability to use hand tools. · Ability to organize and maintain equipment maintenance shop areas to provide for timely and effective processing of RTI Mechanical Equipment. · Ability to learn and understand more extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment and pipe work. · Ability to organize shipment requirements and identify needs from multiple sources to ensure timely delivery of RTI equipment. · Valid Driver’s License Preferred/Additional Qualifications · Documented mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education. · Forklift Operator · Experience reading blueprints, schematics or P&ID drawings Working Conditions / Physical Demands · Work is executed primarily in a shop office/warehouse type environment. · At industrial sites and in the shop environment one may be required to carry equipment (up to 40 pounds), climb stairs and ladders, work in inclement weather and be on one’s feet for a 12 hour shift. · This position requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced shop environment. The Supervisor will be present daily on the floor, working side-by-side with team members to ensure safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
