JOB SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Supervisor (Automotive) oversees the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles in an automotive workshop or service center. This role ensures that all mechanical work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The supervisor manages a team of mechanics, coordinates repair schedules, and ensures customer satisfaction through high-quality service.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a mechanical supervisor in an automotive workshop.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and servicing.
  • Knowledge of modern automotive technology and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities

Supervision & Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of automotive mechanics and technicians.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Provide training and mentorship to enhance team performance.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Oversee vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality mechanical work on cars, including engine overhauls, brake system repairs, and suspension maintenance.
  • Monitor the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.

Workshop Operations & Efficiency:

  • Plan and prioritize maintenance schedules and repair jobs.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of spare parts and tools.

Quality Control & Customer Service:

  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction with service.
  • Provide estimates and explanations of repair work to customers.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and workshop best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety and operational standards.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and parts used.
  • Prepare reports on workshop performance and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control for workshop operations.
