Description
We are seeking Dowds are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join our delivery team. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision and coordination of mechanical works on site, ensuring activities are delivered safely, to programme, to the required quality standard, and in line with Dowds Group procedures. The role focuses on workface delivery, effective coordination of labour and subcontractors, and supporting the wider project team to achieve successful project outcomes. What you’ll be responsible for Manage and supervise daily mechanical site activities, allocating labour and tasks in line with the contract programme. Monitor progress on site, identifying delays, risks, or issues and escalating to the Project Manager as required Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and the Dowds buying team to ensure timely procurement, delivery, and installation of materials and equipment. Promote and maintain high standards of health & safety across site operations, ensuring compliance with company management systems and site requirements. Provide accurate progress updates to the project team and support the preparation of progress and cost review meetings Assist with subcontractor cost management, including support with valuations and authorisation of payments in line with agreed processes What we are looking for Essential Proven experience supervising mechanical works on construction or building services projects. Strong understanding of mechanical installations and site coordination. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schedules. Strong communication and organisational skills. Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and quality standards. Desirable Time‑served mechanical trade background. Experience across sectors such as healthcare, education, life sciences, commercial fit‑out, or residential/student accommodation. SSSTS / SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification.
