Eosol Group, a leading provider of innovative energy solutions, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in Polokwane, South Africa. Our company specializes in the development and management of solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants, making us a pivotal player in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and a proven track record in overseeing projects related to solar energy, particularly in photovoltaic plants.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight of Mechanical Operations: Supervise mechanical activities related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems within the photovoltaic plant. Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Team Management: Lead a team of mechanical technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operation and high-quality work standards.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other supervisory staff to coordinate schedules, materials, and workforce requirements, ensuring timely project completion.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on mechanical systems, addressing any issues promptly and effectively to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and compliance with safety regulations. Prepare and submit progress reports to management.
Safety Compliance: Uphold a strong safety culture within the team and throughout the plant. Ensure all safety protocols are followed and contribute to ongoing safety training initiatives.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical supervision, preferably within the renewable energy sector or specifically in photovoltaic projects.
A relevant degree or certification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance techniques, and safety regulations related to industrial operations, especially in photovoltaic plants.
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a solar energy environment or exposure to solar photovoltaic technology.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Familiarity with relevant software tools for mechanical design and maintenance scheduling.
