As a Mechanical Support Engineer, you will work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders, and the Engineering Team to implement solutions to high engineering standards, both design and technical and in compliance with statutory regulations by ensuring that industry best practice is followed, including PSSR, PUWER and LOLER. You will support all aspects the lifecycle of a chemical plant from design through to decommissioning.
You will improve the mechanical engineering, provide coaching and leading a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will maintain the mechanical engineering competency standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-motivated & able to work to challenging timescales
  • Experience of maintenance methodologies e.g. RCM
  • Collaborative team member with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding performance goals.
  • You can work in a controlled area.
  • Mechanical engineering experience in a COMAH-regulated environment.
  • Experience with operations support, scheduled maintenance, and project delivery.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Knowledge of nuclear site license conditions and ONR guidance.
  • Familiar with PSSR and Written Schemes of Examination.
  • Responsible for engineering safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in mechanical reliability, statutory regulations, and process safety in hazardous settings.

  • Manage schedules, frequencies, maintenance of assets
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety case requirements
  • Improve all aspects of plant and personnel safety
  • Define, improving Key Performance Indicators
  • Process mapping for identification and delivery plant improvements
  • Provide advice on technical aspects of plant operations including technical and operational problem solving
  • Attend T-Week planning meetings and ensure work is scheduled
  • Produce / author maintenance instructions, engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Develop and coach plant personnel
