JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As a Systems Engineer in GE HealthCare’s Bone & Metabolic Health (BMH) division, you will play a critical role in the design, integration, and validation of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) systems. You will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure our bone densitometry products meet clinical, regulatory, and customer requirements. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with a mechanical background and a passion for delivering impactful healthcare solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, product development, or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, verification, and validation processes.
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead system-level design and integration activities for DXA products, ensuring alignment with clinical and business needs.
  • Translate customer and regulatory requirements into system specifications and design inputs.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and quality teams to ensure cohesive system architecture and performance.
  • Drive risk management activities, including FMEA and hazard analysis.
  • Lead verification and validation planning and execution, including test development and data analysis.
  • Support design reviews, technical documentation, and regulatory submissions (e.g., 510(k)).
  • Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues, including field complaints and manufacturing challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
