BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical Systems Engineer - Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of engineering experience OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of engineering experience
- Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer - Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of engineering experience OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of engineering experience OR PhD and 1 year of engineering experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software applications
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
- Experience with the specification, selection, and qualification of aircraft actuation hardware (electrically and hydraulically powered)
- Aircraft mechanical systems design experience, including kinematic design/analysis and/or control systems logic
- Familiarity with development of aircraft door/canopy actuation and locking mechanisms (e.g., crew entry, weapons bay doors, landing gear doors, and utility doors, including the development of in-flight door opening mechanisms)
- Experience with NX CAD and Teamcenter PDM/PLM or equivalent engineering tools
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink
- Experience using MSC ADAMS and/or NX Motion Simulation
- Familiarity with industry standard software application tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Task leadership / mentorship experience
- Prior experience in coordinating with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within a dynamic program environment
- Experience with suppliers and supplier coordination/management
Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
