REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong hands-on experience working with mechanical packaging equipment—especially rotary-style shrink systems used in food packaging environments.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve mechanical and system-level issues.
  • Solid understanding of temperature-controlled sealing systems and film performance in high-speed applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Canada (up to 90% travel), sometimes with short notice.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal sales teams and external technical contacts.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a highly adaptable Mechanical Systems Technician with a deep understanding of rotary shrink bag equipment used in industrial packaging lines. This position is heavily travel-focused, requiring you to visit customer locations across Canada to ensure optimal performance of our materials on their equipment and full functionality of their equipment to support their business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and fine-tune rotary shrink packaging machines to ensure compatibility with our materials.
  • Provide in-field technical support during customer trials, production runs, and new product testing.
  • Assist our sales team by ensuring smooth material integration and resolving technical issues that affect product performance.
  • Support the commissioning of new equipment or materials in collaboration with plant personnel and local technicians.
  • Maintain clear records of interventions, issues, and improvements for continuous optimization.
