Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional looking to take on a leadership role within a dynamic and essential healthcare environment? In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, performance standards, and the seamless delivery of technical engineering services in line with contractual and KPI requirements.
Successful candidates will need to have relevant qualifications together with consistent experience in a similar environment. You will be required to act on your own initiative; there is a need for accuracy, attention to detail, numeracy and record keeping whilst leading from the front with regards to the mechanical team. Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of engineers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ensure statutory legislation and HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) compliance, managing mechanical systems such as HVAC, MTHW, Medical Gas, and Ventilation.
  • Drive energy management initiatives to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS Trust representatives and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) management teams.
  • Oversee sub-contractors and service partners, ensuring service delivery meets contract requirements.
  • Manage financial budgets effectively and ensure cost-efficient service delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Be part of the on-call rota, providing essential out-of-hours support when required.
