  Job Title: Mechanical Technician   Property of: CJ Bio America 1946 Harvest Ave.  Fort Dodge, Iowa  50501 Job #: M/E_M_Mechanical Technician   REV: 5/11/2023 Department: Maintenance Reports to: Supervisor of Mechanical  Career Path: M Function: Maintenance and Engineering ■Full-Time        Non-Exempt   Job Summary Responsible for industrial mechanical maintenance, which includes but isn’t limited to: installation, testing, preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.  Summary of Essential Job Functions     * Responsible for industrial mechanical maintenance, which includes but isn’t limited to installation, testing and repair of mechanical lubrication, pumps, alignment, separator, welding, bearings, gearboxes, valves, pumps, etc.   * Uses hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to assemble, install, align, and adjust machines. * Ensures machines perform to specifications by conducting tests; modifies and fine tunes machines.  * Disassembles or dismantles machines as necessary  * Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints. * Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise.  * Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as necessary   * Responsible for mechanical equipment conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards;  * Adhere to all regulatory and safety regulations required by PSM, MOC, OSHA, Food Safety, CJ Bio America, and State of Iowa; * Understanding the process of the manufacturing equipment and data sheets for the configuration * Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities  * Knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment and maintenance * Organizational skills and attention to detail  * Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics  * Work in a safe manner;  * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  * Thorough understand of safety and regulatory practices, guidelines, rules and laws  Physical Demands & Work Environment * Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, unless business needs require additional hours worked;  * Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call * This position works in production areas; Exposures include moving parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions, hot and cold temperatures, chemicals, high pressure steam and dust, and outdoor weather conditions  * This position is responsible for assigning, leading and monitoring the work of others  * Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling as required  * Frequently ascends/descends stairs and ladders, and works at heights using safety fall protection   * Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.   * This position will use hand and power tools regularly, and may operate heavy equipment as necessary  * Must be able to wear full-face respirator and protective equipment for testing. This includes minimal facial hair in order to ensure proper fit in of respirator in accordance with OSHA regulations. Must complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing. * Ability to enter confined spaces when necessary  * Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds; Education/Experience: * High school diploma /GED required; Vocational school or Associate’s degree in related field highly preferred   * At least 2 years Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience required  WE ARE AN E-VERIFY PARTICIPANT AND UPON INTIAL OFFER A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED.
