Your Mission as a Mechanical Technician (Diesel Generators) As a Mechanical Technician, your mission is to ensure uninterrupted power at remote wellhead sites through expert maintenance and fast-response repairs of diesel generator systems. You will work independently in rugged field environments to safeguard critical operations from power disruptions—ensuring continuous production and equipment functionality. You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as a Mechanical Technician (Diesel Generators) Perform scheduled PM tasks: Oil/filter changes, coolant flushes, fuel priming Inspection of turbochargers, water pumps, alternators Monitor and maintain fuel systems to prevent contamination and injection failures. Troubleshoot critical faults: Engine hunting, overheating, or non-start issues Repair starting circuit components, solenoids, and perform top-end overhauls Address leaks in cooling and lubrication systems Manage mechanical aspects of: Auto-Start and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) mechanisms Load bank testing to validate generator capacity against wellhead demand Acoustic enclosure integrity and vibration isolation Enforce Zone-rated safety practices: Verify spark arrestors and emergency ESD valves Maintain logs of engine hours, fuel use, and battery status Ensure availability of critical spares (e.g., injectors, air filters, seals) Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as a Mechanical Technician (Diesel Generators) Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Internal Combustion Engines. 5+ years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel engines (e.g., CAT, Cummins, Perkins). Specialized knowledge in: Fuel injection systems Governor and control mechanisms Diesel engine thermodynamics and cooling systems Proven ability to work independently in remote oilfield environments with minimal supervision. High attention to safety in hazardous and Zone-rated areas.
