Overview Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician (Environmental Simulation) to join our team! The Mechanical Technician (Environmental Simulation) primary responsibility is to support the environmental and dynamics laboratory testing operations by conducting the relevant testing activities. Element Newark offers a range of services, including shock and vibration testing, thermal stress, and extreme environment simulation. Together with our sister lab, Element Fremont, we support virtually every industry in the Bay Area, including aerospace, defense, telecom, medical, automotive, industrial, and more. This position will be based at the Newark, Ca location. Pay: $28-40/hr. If you are interested, you are encouraged to apply! Responsibilities Setup and run environmental and vibration tests Set components within test fixtures in environmental simulation chambers in preparation for testing Data collection/analyzing utilizing control systems, thermocouples and accelerometers Troubleshooting test set ups Operate thermal chambers Skills / Qualifications Experience in environmental or dynamics or testing related to Element a plus Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, relative coursework, projects, internships or related electrical or mechanical testing experience (material, environmental, dynamics/shock/vibe, climatic), or commensurate with other experience Must be able to operate hand/power tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills required, intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Excel is required Must work well in a team environment Attention to detail #LI-TF1 Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
