Your Role
The Maintenance Services department require an experienced Mechanical Technician (Fitter). This role is a 12 hour night shift (18:00 - 06:00).
You’ll conduct preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, corrective and breakdown maintenance on automated machines at our world class manufacturing facilities at CSL Behring, Broadmeadows.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer you will possess experience conducting preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, corrective and breakdown maintenance on filling machines, packaging machines, and supporting equipment. Role requirement includes:

  • Overhauling and maintaining automated filling machines and packaging machines. This includes supporting machine/line changeovers
  • TIG stainless steel welding and Lathe and Milling machine work
  • Working with Microsoft software packages and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Working to GMP principles and an appreciation of aseptic processes and techniques
  • Supporting manufacturing on a shift roster. Flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs, including availability outside normal work hours /Facility shutdown to support major maintenance activities

Your Experience

  • Qualification: Certificate 3 Mechanical Engineering trade or Indentured Certificate as a Fitter & Turner
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and operation of automated filling and packaging equipment and expertise in fault diagnosis and corrective action
  • Experience within a regulated GMP environment in the Pharmaceutical or food manufacturing would be an advantage
  • An understanding of aseptic techniques and work traceability standards is highly desirable
  • You are highly motivated and enjoy utilising your initiative to solve complex mechanical related problems
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards
