We are seeking an experienced Filling and Packaging Mechanical Technician (Fitter) to join our Maintenance Services Mechanical team at Broadmeadows site. This is a 12-hour permanent night shift role (6:00pm – 6:00am). Your Role Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, you will maintain automated filling and packaging machines at our world class manufacturing facility. Your work will help ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical production systems. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, corrective and breakdown maintenance on filling machines, packaging machines, and supporting equipment. Perform isolations, maintenance checks, complete relevant work permits as a recipient, and other important safety related documentation. Overhauling and maintaining automated filling machines and packaging machines. This includes supporting machine/line changeovers. TIG stainless steel welding and Lathe and Milling machine work. Interpret engineering drawings, equipment diagrams, and prepare sketches for modifications. Accurately record work activities using our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Provide technical advice on filling and packaging mechanical equipment. Support manufacturing on a shift roster. Flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs, including availability outside rostered work hours, facility shutdowns to support major maintenance activities. Your Skills and Experience Qualification: Certificate 3 Mechanical Engineering trade, or Indentured Certificate as a Fitter & Turner. Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of automated filling – ideally in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing or highly regulated GMP environment. Expertise in fault diagnosis and corrective action. Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. An understanding of aseptic techniques and work traceability standards is highly desirable. You are highly motivated and enjoy utilising your initiative to solve complex mechanical related problems. Ability to work autonomously and with attention to safety, quality, and cleanliness standards. Strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
