Our Fixed Plant Mechanical teams are currently hiring Maintainers to fill permanent positions at our Newman Operations. Working in a team of mechanical maintainers, and reporting to the Supervisor Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will be responsible for the carrying out of preventive, reactive and planned maintenance tasks to support plant availability in the field. With the support of a strong and proactive Management team, Engineers, Electricians and all of BHP’s resources, you have the ability to continually learn and develop in your career and make a difference to our operation.
These are residential roles based on even-time rosters (day & night shift).

In this role you will:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Undertake preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action
- Repair and service fixed plant equipment, attend breakdowns and maintain plant availability
- Ability to collaborate to fault find equipment in breakdown situations
- Carry out all activities within the whole-of-job scope, including pre-work, preparation of JHAs and organizing materials, execution, testing and completion of tasks
- Ensure operational discipline in 1SAP Work Management practices, from raising of notifications, execution of Work Orders on both planned and unplanned situations
