Description

We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our team at our Cold Meece site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for mechanical systems, particularly within the automotive or industrial sectors.
Hours: 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch (unpaid), i.e. 42.5 hours per week.
Salary: £36,000 per annum, plus bonus
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Experience:

  • Mechanical technician: 1 year (preferred)
  • vehicle systems and diagnostics : 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems on a variety of vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in engines, transmissions, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prepare detailed service reports.
  • Replace or repair faulty parts, including engines, gearboxes, steering mechanisms, and exhaust systems.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and tools.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding technical issues and recommended repairs.
