Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Bridge design and production by building complex assemblies—from delicate PCBAs to heavy-duty power systems Perform CAD reviews, precision instrumentation, and advanced troubleshooting Manage R&D workshop build-outs and operate fabrication equipment Education and Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience in high-stakes prototyping and manufacturing environments, ideally paired with an Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent vocational certification). Experience in constructing first-of-kind subassemblies while maintaining high levels of process control and technical documentation. Expertise in operating fabrication equipment (3D printers, power machinery, and machine shop equipment) and leading workshop build-outs, including space planning and T-slot fabrication. Specific Skills / Abilities Proven ability to build electro-mechanical assemblies to exacting specs, including PCBAs, sensitive wiring, and structural sheet metal. Mastery of custom wiring for both signal and heavy-duty power systems, including high-quality soldering, crimping, and harness construction. Proficiency in reviewing 2D/3D CAD and a strong interest in modifying parts and engineering drawings to meet requirements. Skilled in installing/qualifying delicate instrumentation, executing engineering tests, and processing technical data. Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including failure analysis and the creation of new detection processes. Competency in wiring high and low voltage facility systems, including transformers, disconnects, and power supplies. Knowledge of environmental, reliability, safety, and industry standards for industrial and electric utility products.
