Responsibilities

FIND PURPOSE AND IMPACT

As a Mechanical Trades Assistant in Water and Sewerage, you’ll play an essential, hands-on role in keeping the Dubbo region safe, growing and enjoyable for all. This newly created position combines outdoors, field, and workshop-based work, whilst providing hands on support to our skilled mechanical and electrical tradespeople, to assist in the provision of safe, reliable, and efficient water supply and sewerage services. This entry level position will present you with interesting, diverse challenges and you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and shape a career in a supportive team environment.

You’ll work with a great team to:

  • Assist in the effective, efficient maintenance of treatment plants, reservoirs, booster stations, and sewer pumping stations to ensure they are of high quality and meet requirements
  • Provide support for tradespeople engaged in managing infrastructure within the water and sewer branch
  • Utilise a wide range of hand and power tools
  • Participate in further studies and training as requiredMaintain accurate and current computer databases

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • General administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills
  • Willingness to undertake further studies and training as require
