We are looking for a Mechanical Trades Supervisor (Term) to join our Power Production team. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 15 maintenance personnel at our various thermal generating stations during planned maintenance outages.
Key elements of this role include::

Responsibilities
  • Possess either a Certification as a Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic, Welder or Pipefitter.
  • The successful candidate will possess either a Mechanical Engineering degree eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia, a Mechanical Technologist Diploma eligible for membership with TechNova.
  • You must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a modern power generation facility or other heavy industrial environment with a thorough knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, continuous improvement programs and maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • You will be an experienced leader with a minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory mechanical role within heavy industry.
  • You will possess strong leadership skills as well as effective communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants demonstrating acumen for working in a fast paced, multi-faceted, mechanical orientated heavy industrial operation would be considered an asset.
  • You must hold a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License with a minimum of two years driving experience and provide a driver’s abstract satisfactory to NSPI
