Join UGL as a Mechanical Fitter – Component Overhaul Location: Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW Type: Permanent, Full-Time Work Schedule: 9-day fortnight, with every second Friday off Shift Hours: Monday to Thursday 5:30am – 2:30pm, Fridays 5:30am – 1:30pm (on working Fridays) The Opportunity UGL’s Manufacturing & Maintenance division in Broadmeadow is seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters with experience to join our Component Solutions team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth production flow and assisting the broader team when needed. Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, repairs and overhauls of train bogies, engines and other mechanical components. Conduct diagnostics and inspections. Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints. About You: To be successful in this role, you should have: Mechanical Trade qualification and hands-on experience in a related field. A solid understanding of production, manufacturing, or process environments. The ability to implement new ideas and contribute to performance improvements. Strong communication skills and the ability to build proactive relationships with staff and key stakeholders.
