Description

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in mechanical construction, QA/QC, or turnover on industrial projects (oil & gas, energy, process plant, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, equipment, and testing procedures.
  • Experience with turnover software/tools (e.g., Aconex, SmartPlant, or proprietary systems).
  • Strong understanding of quality and documentation standards (ASME, ISO, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a mechanical turnover execution plan aligned with project milestones.
  • Define system boundaries and support the development of mechanical system limits in coordination with engineering and commissioning.
  • Work with construction and QA/QC to identify mechanical completion systems and subsystems.
  • Track progress of mechanical installation, testing, and inspection to align with turnover timelines.
  • Compile and review turnover packages (system completion dossiers) including:


    • P&IDs and isometric drawings

    • Weld/NDT records
    • Pressure test records
    • Equipment installation checklists
    • Inspection reports
    • Punch list status
    • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with contract and quality standards.
    • Interface between construction, QA/QC, commissioning, and client teams.
    • Coordinate system walkdowns and ensure punch list items are resolved.
    • Support Mechanical Completion (MC) and Pre-Commissioning activities.
    • Facilitate formal system handovers to commissioning with proper documentation and sign-offs.
    • Maintain turnover tracking logs and status dashboards.
    • Participate in audits and client reviews related to mechanical turnover.
    • Resolve documentation gaps, discrepancies, or punch list delays.
    • Ensure all quality standards are upheld through turnover process.
    • Provide regular progress reports on mechanical turnover readiness.
    • Track and report turnover status by system, area, or subsystem.
