Job Purpose   The employee serves as a first-line supervisor, directing and coordinating activities of several units of skilled Mechanics and other to provide complete equipment support for the shop and field operations.  This position develops cost savings preventative measures to ensure the longevity of all company machinery while also diagnosing problems as they arise and providing solutions to difficult repair issues while complying with all safety protocols.    Essential Duties Responsibilities    Equipment 1. Manage the maintenance and repair of field equipment to ensure equipment remains in good working order before being returned to the field. 2. Maintaining an equipment spare parts inventory and order parts as needed. 3. Conducts a final inspection for all equipment before loading for transportation to a jobsite.  4. Maintaining accurate maintenance records for all equipment. 5. Assist superintendents with field equipment problems. 6. Maintains an equipment maintenance program.  7. Produces work orders for schedule or unscheduled equipment maintenance.  8. Identifies needs and coordinates purchases for equipment for Mechanic Shop. 9. Active maintenance of a clean and orderly Mechanic Shop.  10. Follows all DEP and OSHA regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and hazardous waste storage and handling. 11. Weekly safety Inspection of Mechanic Shop. 12. Supports the manager of job services with company programs such as budget, employee development, training, safety, quality control and cost control. 13. Coordinate all purchase with Procurement and Accounting in accordance with policies and procedures. 14. Train superintendents on the maintenance of equipment in the field. 15. Reporting as required including weekly KPI reports. Over-the-Road-Trailers (OTR) 16. DOT inspection and paperwork on all OTR trailers once a year 17. Retro-fitting OTR Trailers: building and installing work benches, office desks, and an office in the front of trailers making Superintendents’ trailer for out in the field. Managerial Duties 18. Managerial duties including maintaining daily time sheets for Department. 19. Supervises Mechanics staff within company policy and procedures. 20. Responsible for all hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations with support and active coordination with H/R. 21. Assigning daily tasks.  22. Perform Quarterly Performance Reviews Miscellaneous 23. Monitor company vehicles to make sure routine maintenance is being performed. 24. Observes all safety procedures. 25. Other duties as assigned.   Minimum Qualifications               HS Diploma or equivalent             3-5 years of experience   Other requirements               Valid Florida Driver's License             Proficient in Microsoft Word             Proficient in Microsoft Excel             Ability to drive a forklift.             Working Conditions   Primary location of job is 50% in an office setting and 50% in a shop setting. Requires travel, including overnight outside of employee's home territory. Exposed to hazardous materials. Exposed to frequent loud noises. Exposed to dangerous machinery. Generally, works five-day work week, but availability may be required outside of typical work week.
