Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

As a Mechatronics Engineer at Filics, you will ensure that our robots’ hardware performs impeccably. Your primary responsibility will be to thoroughly test and validate each mechatronic component, ensuring they function seamlessly both individually and as part of the overall system. This meticulous process is essential to guarantee that our hardware is fully operational before our software can enable the robots to achieve full autonomy.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Automated Quality Assurance and System Integration Testing: Develop and implement automated testing and quality assurance processes, including the creation and maintenance of tools and scripts for end-of-production testing and validation to conduct thorough end-of-line assessments and integration tests. Design and execute rigorous test scenarios for both individual modules and entire robots, ensuring all hardware components and systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and seamless functionality, fully preparing the hardware for autonomous operation.
  • Calibration and System Checks: Perform precise manual and automated calibration of critical components such as LiDAR scanners and motor controllers. Ensure that all computing systems and communication interfaces are meticulously set up and optimized for peak performance. Conduct comprehensive system checks to verify flawless communication between all components and the reliability of connections, such as WiFi antennas, ensuring that every aspect of the system operates at its best.
  • Test Protocol Management and Data Analysis: Create and execute comprehensive test protocols, including transport tests, to ensure the robots’ readiness for deployment. Analyze test data to generate detailed reports, providing insights into system performance and identifying areas for improvement. Your analysis will be critical in maintaining the high quality and reliability of our robots.
  • Bug Reporting and Resolvement: Identify and report hardware bugs and coordinate with the hardware-, software, and electronics teams to resolve these issues efficiently, acting as a crucial interface between these development areas.
  • Hardware Assembly: Assemble complex hardware modules, including our self-developed driving systems, ensuring exceptional precision and optimal functionality while also contributing to the development and enhancement of mechatronic systems and prototypes.
  • In-House Product Usage and Usability Testing: Use the product in-house to ensure it is user-friendly and meets the required usability standards. Identify and report any usability issues, providing feedback to improve the overall user experience.
Outlook for Production Lead: As you grow in this role, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and potentially transition into a Production Lead position. In this future role, you will oversee the entire production process, ensuring that all systems and processes are optimized for efficiency and quality. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our production workflows.
