Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Mechatronics Engineer at Graduate or Associate level to join our dynamic team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated engineer who is interested in a challenging role to join our dynamic and fast-paced R&D team. The right candidate must be passionate about developing automation technology, excited to try new ideas and push the boundaries of current technologies.
As an iCOMAT Mechatronics Engineer in the technology R&D department, you will contribute to the development of iCOMAT core technology bricks, working towards the first fully automated, ‘lights-out’ composites manufacturing process. You will contribute to the design, build and testing of research and development assets for use at our Bristol facility, feeding into the technology stream with applications at our sister manufacturing facility. You will also be involved in technical assistance for the sister manufacturing site and customer assets.

Responsibilities

· Own full development and design cycles for automated systems, from specification through to build, commission and testing.
· Supporting the generation of new code for PLC, robotic and SCADA systems.
· Supporting mechanical design, build and test of R&D assets for use at the Bristol site.
· Build and commission of electrical systems for R&D assets.
· Support improving existing code to improve system capability, repeatability and reliability.
· Support commissioning activities at sister sites and customer facilities where necessary. · Bring novel approaches and solutions to the challenges presented by emerging automation technologies.
· Comfortable with hands on practical assembly, use of power & hand tools.
· Use Structured Problem Solving to determine Root Cause Analysis
· Drive I4.0 and I5.0 vision for the manufacturing environment – striving for fully automated composite manufacturing equipment.
