Victoria University is seeking a dynamic Media Advisor in a short-term role. You’ll be pitching stories to media and managing manage media projects across news, web, and social platforms to amplify the VU brand. About the Team: This role is part of Victoria University’s Marketing Portfolio, within the dynamic Media and Corporate Communications team. We’re a passionate group of storytellers committed to supporting and elevating the profile and reputation of both VU and TAFE. From research to student storytelling to our major partnerships, there is a breadth of stories we get to tell across various platforms. The Media Advisor has a key role to play in this. About the Role: The Media Advisor helps promote Victoria University’s reputation by managing and delivering media projects through a number of channels including media outlets, the VU website and VU’s social media platforms. This role is also responsible for managing relationships with senior leaders in specific areas of the University, as well as external partners, and contributing to media reports and strategic planning. Position Key Duties Key responsibilities include: ​​Deliver media projects across multiple channels including web and digital storytelling. Take ownership of proactive media opportunities to showcase VU’s expertise. Create and publish media updates and social content. Media inbox management. Build relationships with internal leaders and external media. Monitor coverage, manage risks, and prepare media coverage reports. Salary: HEP 7 - $101, 288 - $109, 639 + 17% superannuation Employment Type: Full Time, 3 Month Fixed Term Opportunity Hours: 36.75 Location: VU Footscray Park Campus (Hybrid) For a detailed overview of the role’s duties and responsibilities, please refer to the Position Description - Media Advisor About You: We’re looking for media storytellers who have a strong and recent track record of successfully getting media coverage, with a strong contact list. We are a small team so we’re looking for someone who has initiative and takes direction well, delivers to deadlines and is also a good teammate who can support and collaborate well with colleagues.
