QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, communications, event coordination, or community outreach (internships and volunteer experience considered.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Secret required
  • Ability to travel 10 -15 %, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting events or outreach initiatives in a government, military, or non-profit environment
  • Familiarity with Hawaii’s local culture and community organizations
  • Experience with digital communications or social media
  • Interest in government affairs or public policyProficiency in a language spoken in the Indo-Pacific region

  • The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 to $171,250.

Responsibilities

WORK YOU’LL DO

As a Project Delivery Specialist on the project, you will:
Support the client’s Public Affairs Office in fostering collaboration and trust between the Department of Defense and the Hawaii community. Working under the guidance of senior staff, this role assists with communications, event coordination, and outreach activities that enhance the client’s presence and engagement in Hawaii. The position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in public relations, strategic engagement, and government affairs within a dynamic military environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with logistics and administrative support for the client’s leadership engagements and community outreach activities.
  • Help draft basic communication materials such as meeting notes, talking points, and event summaries.
  • Maintain and update calendars of engagement events and outreach activities.
  • Support the creation of outreach stories and vignettes highlighting positive military engagement.
  • Update and distribute contact lists and resources for public affairs and community relations points of contact.
  • Attend and help assess community events and meetings, representing the client as needed.
  • Support government affairs activities, including tracking legislative updates and assisting with coordination for visits and briefings.Contribute to outreach efforts with Native Hawaiian organizations, local government, and community groups.
