JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organised Media, Events, and Marketing Manager to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective running of a growing, multi-service charitable organisation that is committed to improving the lives and life chances of children, young people, and their families.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing marketing strategies that enhance The Smith Foundation’s brand, while ensuring alignment with our values and messaging. Working closely with the Head of Business, Finance & Operations you will lead event planning, coordinate media activities, and drive marketing initiatives to facilitate effective communication with both internal and external audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering events of various scales.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing, including social media platforms, email campaigns and content creation.
  • Experience of working with media and coordinating press releases, campaigns, or media relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adopt tone and messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Good knowledge of SEO and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, for events or to meet deadlines when required
  • Willingness to travel to event locations or stakeholder meetings when required.
Responsibilities
  • To assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the Foundation’s programs, events, and achievements.
  • Drive online and offline marketing initiatives, including email campaigns, newsletters, social media, website updates, and print materials
  • To coordinate photography/videography of school activities and events for communication purposes.
  • Manage the Foundation’s media presence by creating and curating content for social media platforms, the Foundation’s website, and other digital channels.
  • Build relationships with local media outlets, write press releases, and coordinate media coverage for school events and achievements.
  • Assist with the organisation and planning of all Foundation events, including open days, Prize Giving, celebrations days and community engagement activities.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for events, ensuring they are aligned with marketing goals and meet high-quality standards.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for community inquiries related to events and media.
  • Develop newsletters, event invitations, and other communications to maintain strong connections with the school’s community.
  • To support the HR team with recruitment and marketing campaigns.
  • To support the development and implementation of the school intranet
