Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Job Shift: Rotating Job Category: Health Care Position Summary The Medicaid Eligibility Representative is directly responsible for the day-to-day intake and processing of Medicaid eligibility applications, which is part of Patient Access Services (PAS) / Medicaid Eligibility Department. The Representatives shall focus on converting all eligible uninsured patients to Medicaid. Emphasis on customer service and the overall patient experience, and relieving fear of the financial burdens associated with caring for a sick child. Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible experience, preferably in Patient Access or experience with Revenue Cycle. License/Registration/Certification None. Education and Training: Associate degree and one (1) year of related experience with proven track record specific to Medicaid eligibility services. In lieu of Associates degree; High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Skills: Demonstrated success in performing day-to-day operations of a hospital-based Medicaid eligibility department, or experience in HHSC qualifying children for Medicaid. Experience in performing at a level of superior customer service, in a hospital-based Medicaid eligibility department. Ability to establish rapport and cooperation with patients and their families, as well as staff in Patient Financial and Patient Access Services, as well as other departments that impact patient financial and access functions. Demonstrated ability to perform with high quality customer service skills which includes children, parents, hospital staff, and physicians as customers.
