Medical Account Manager – Provider Client Retention Position Summary
The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between provider clients and our internal billing operations team. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships, addressing concerns promptly, ensuring smooth communication, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve the client experience.
Success in this role will be measured by client satisfaction, retention, and the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Medical Account Manager – Provider Client Retention Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Retention

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned provider clients, ensuring consistent communication and support.
  • Build trust-based relationships with providers and office staff, positioning yourself as a partner in their practice’s financial success.
  • Proactively engage with clients to ensure their needs are met and identify potential challenges before they escalate.
  • Lead regular check-in meetings with clients to review performance, address concerns, and provide updates on billing outcomes.

Issue Resolution & Support

  • Manage and resolve client inquiries, escalations, and issues related to billing, claims, and collections.
  • Collaborate with internal billing and coding teams to troubleshoot and resolve client concerns quickly.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to clients on resolution progress.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track client KPIs such as reimbursement rates, days in A/R, and denial trends, providing actionable insights to both clients and internal leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to clients, highlighting results, improvements, and opportunities.
  • Work with leadership to develop strategies to improve client retention and satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the operations team to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients.
  • Collaborate with billing leadership to identify process improvements that enhance client outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on client needs, competitive trends, and service improvement opportunities.

Medical Account Manager – Provider Client Retention Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent experience in client/account management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare account management.
  • Proven track record of client retention and relationship management in a service-based business.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of the medical billing process and revenue cycle management for private practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with providers and office staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled at interpreting and presenting data/financial performance metrics to clients.
  • Proficiency with billing platforms (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, Athena, e-Clinical, etc.) is a plus.

Location: Westside
Pay: $45k - $50k
