POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to join our administrative team. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll operations, and ensuring accurate billing for our medical team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in bookkeeping and is comfortable working with confidential financial information in a fast-paced clinical setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting support
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ceridian, or similar platforms)
  • Knowledge of Alberta Health physician billing is considered an asset
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Review and audit employee commissions and timesheets for accuracy and compliance
  • Process biweekly payroll in a timely and confidential manner
  • Perform bookkeeping duties including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation
  • Assist with physician billing and ensure accurate documentation and submission to Alberta Health
  • Maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and digital reports
  • Support the Clinic Supervisor with administrative financial tasks and reporting
  • Assist during internal and external audits as required
