RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Duties:
1. Communicating with current and potential patients (e.g., assisting with communication of treatment plans and follow-up care).
2. Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens to send to labs.
3. Ensuring patient records are accurate while remaining confidential.
4. Assisting with educating patients about their treatment plans and any follow-up care or appointments needed.
Office / Administrative Duties:
1. Assisting patients as they check in and check out (including verifying insurance information via our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system)
2. Following up with insurance companies for billing as needed.
3. Updating and maintaining patient medical records in the EHR system (general familiarity with EHR systems is required, but training on the specific EHR will be provided).
4. Assisting with the management of the office inventory of both office and medical supplies.
5. Answering phone calls to the clinic in a polite and professional manner.
6. Following up with patients with their lab results and assisting with scheduling any necessary follow-up appointments.
7. Assisting with medical billing (general knowledge about billing is required).
Required Skills:
1. Excellent communication skills.
2. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
3. Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
4. Ability to professionally handle phone calls, especially multiple phone calls if needed.
5. Ability to check patients’ temperature, SpO2 (finger machine), blood pressure (electronic machine), height, and weight
Preferred Skills:
1. Fluency in Chinese Mandarin (primarily spoken).
2. Experience in healthcare administration or related experience working with patients.
3. Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
