Description

We are a busy Family Medicine practice looking for a medical administrative assistant to cover a maternity leave.
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM and Friday 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Wage: starting at $20 per hour

We are looking for someone to provide excellent and efficient patient care through a variety of administrative and clerical duties including:

  • Managing, registering, and scheduling patient appointments
  • Managing phones while prioritizing private line for physicians
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Patient flow
  • Using an electronic medical record (PS Suite)
  • Scanning, faxing, filing patient documents
  • Check EMR messages and reconcile daily
  • Ensure documentation of all interactions in patient charts
  • Aid with processing/recording invoices for physicians daily
  • Maintaining office cleanliness
  • Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
  • Other office and clerical duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organization, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations while remaining calm
  • Ability to adhere to clinic confidentiality policies
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Post Secondary Education
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Time management skills, organization, and customer service
  • Excellent attention to detail while multitasking

Assets:

  • Bilingualism
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Billing
  • Completion of relevant health-related community college program (ie. Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary)
